Hot and muggy night = Hot racing on the track

It was a hot unusually warm night at the Stuart Speedway but the racing was good.

The first feature of the night was the IMCA stock cars. 7 Stock cars signed into the pit area. With only a few laps in though 3 cars had already retired. Brian Blessington and Casey Gruebel who both left with flat tires and Bryan Snell who exited early with mechanical problems. With 4 cars left to finish the race it was Branden Pruitt who would keep the Pruitt family win streak alive by claiming the win. Marcus Fagen Josh Daniels and Derrick Rohe would round out the field.

7 IMCA Sport Compacts were up next. Randy Rush would be the early leader with Curtis Miller running 2nd but it was Jacob Reiter who would make his way to the front. The finish in the compacts was a Jim Dandy as Jacob Reiter made a last corner pass to claim the checkers over Randy Rush. Curtis Miller, Jacob Peters and Jason Kroeger rounded out the top 5.

10 IMCA Sport Mods were up next for there feature event. Shawn Cooney and Colten Nelson would make up the front row but it was 3rd place starter Kody Havens would take the early lead with Cooney and Nelson 2nd and 3rd Rookie Dusty Masolini would make a charge to the front as would Clint Luellen. on lap 6 Masolini would crack the top 3 and eventually make his way to 2nd and have to settle for the bridesmaid spot as Kody Havens would pick up his feature win of 2015. Clint Luellen, Shawn Cooney and Colton Nelson would round out the top 5.

Up next was the Hobby Feature and it was a Jim Dandy. 14 Hobbies would start the feature and in the early stages they were 4 and at times 5 wide. Shannon Anderson would waste no time charging to the front as he found himself in the top spot after only a few laps. Buck Schafroth would charge to the front as well and quickly found himself in 2nd but was unable to run down Anderson who would go on to take the checkard flag and the win, Schafroth would finish 2nd ahead the "Mayor" John Watson, Matt Tiernan, and Gina Gruebel.

The final event of the night saw 13 Modifieds run there feature event. It was Scott Bash who would take advantage of his front row starting spot and jump to early lead and would jump out to a sizeable lead. A few yellows would slow field down and ruin Bash`s momentum as "Happy" Gilman would make his way through the field and eventually get around Bash. Todd VanEaton would make a charge as well and find himself in 2nd but on a restart he would lose momentum and fade back through the field. Jeff James crossed in 3rd but was put at tail after making contact with Luke Wanniger resulting in Wanniger going around while the 2 raced for 3rd in turns 1 and 2. A yellow would come out and the race would end under a yellow/checkard. The ruling was Wanniger would get his spot back and James would recieve the bad dog no biscuit and finish at tail for questionable driving. Gilman was a pretty a happy guy in victory lane while points leader Nick Roberts would settle for 2nd, Wanniger who was re-awarded his spot would finish 3rd with the youngster Cole Fergusen 4th and pole-sitter Scott Bash rounding out the top 5.

Thanks for viewing this. I really enjoy typing these up and helping Jeff and the Positively Racing crew cover some new areas. My upcoming plans this weekend are back to back MLRA Late Model shows at I-80 and Corning and then back to Stuart to wrap up  the weekend.
