Stovall holds off late charge from Pearson to win MLRA/CBC/MARS Late Model Feature

Race 33 on the year brought me to Adams County Speedway in Corning,Iowa for my 2nd trip there this year. Along with the weekly nascar racing program were the MLRA/CBC/MARS Late Models. 39 drivers made the trip to the speedway in the late models including a couple big names drivers as Earl Pearson Jr and Billy Moyer made the pull over after a few rain outs out east. Omaha`s Billy Leighton brought the field to the green flag but it was 9 time track champion Chris Spieker who would take the early lead. A few quick yellows kept the field close but once they got into the rythym it was Kyle Berck who would take over the lead from Spieker. A few laps later Spieker would drive back underneath and the 2 would make contact. This would open up the door for Billings, Missouri driver Jesse Stovall as he would make it 3 wide coming out of 2 and gain the top spot. Earl Pearson Jr started 3rd but slowly faded back before making a charge to the front. Lap traffic would help Pearson slowly reel in Stovall but would have to settle for the bridesmaid spot as Jesse Stovall would be the victor in the 50 lap feature event. Chris Spieker, Kyle Berck, Ryan Gustin, Billy Moyer, Corey Zeitner, Bill Leighton, Terry Phillips and Tuscon, Arizona driver Jake O`Neil would round out the top 10.

Bill Leighton Jr, Jason O`Brien, Earl Pearson Jr and Kyle Berck were heat race winners while Tad Pospisil and John Hampel were the B main winners.
